The server is back up. We're not sure what was wrong with the connection but it's fixed now.

The telephone line has gone wonkie after the huge rain storm that dumped more than 6 inches of rain in less than 12 hours on us -- flooding the basement and computer room a bit.

I kept up all night with the wet vac to keep dumping gallons of water out of the computer room carpet and it continued to pour in.

I do not think the fault in inside the house but *shrugs* who knows -- the line goes out and is loud buzzing and static with no dial tone. Since the server is on DSL, a wonky phone line means it is going to be out too.

The problem stops for a while and than returns. I called the phone company, AT&T -- that was Friday on the 4th of July and was told sorry Charley see you on Monday by 8 PM Eastern.

I am posting this to warn everyone that this weekend will be wonkey unless where ever the short is happening fixes itself -- probably drys out.

Server appears to be down doing an CEP update. More to follow if I hear more news.
