|Figdish settles at the breakfast table with the morning paper and sweet buns. Nibbles whuffles under the table hoping for crumbs and the odd bit he knows Figdish will drop for him.
As is her habit, Figdish reads aloud to Nibbles to improve his understanding of common.
"Hillbert Expedition successful in attempt on Stormcrow Peak. The party of eight climbers faced steep hills, dangerous animals, giants and icy slopes to reach to the top of one of the most challenging mountain peaks around. When this reporter reached Edbur Hillbert, leader of the expedition it was obvious the trek had taken its toll. A pale and shaken Hillbert would only talk about the blue Dragon encountered at the top of the mountain and the bravery of his team members in fighting it off. [Figdish interjects "A dragon Nibbles. On Stormcrow Peak!]" Asked if this experience had shaken his confidence in mountain climbing, Hillbert gave assurances that Stormcrow Peak was only the first of many climbs. "St. Marcus was looking after us. Two of the climbing party offered special prayers for our safety. Our rangers led the way and the rest of the party offered their own special talents when needed". Team member Poindexter Mort expressed disappointment at the lack of flowers on the mountain. Miss Robin Twighhildenbottle was quoted as saying "More pies, less ickiness!" Miss Flori Fletcher, when pressed about Hillbert's leadership under adverse conditions said mentioned something about him being fit to lead.
Fidgish put the paper down with a thoughful expression. "Dragons in Stormcrow Peak, hmmmmm"
"Fairy tales do not tell children that dragons exist. Children already know that. Fairy tales tell children that dragons can be killed." - G. K. Chesterton
